Welcome to the Waretown Volunteer Fire Company
At the Waretown Volunteer Fire Company we recognize every individual has talents that can benefit the fire department and strengthen our community. We offer a variety of memberships that enable our members to contribute to our cause and maintain their ability to meet family, work, and other personal obligations.
In addition to firefighting and emergency response, we are involved in various community service projects and fundraising activities. We have administrative tasks to complete, buildings that need maintained, computer databases that need updated, food that needs prepared for various functions. Whatever your talent, we can use your expertise to strengthen our organization.

The Waretown Volunteer Fire Company is a 100% volunteer organization and a registered 501c4 non-profit organization. The company heavily relies on donations to purchase life-saving equipment, to provide basic and advanced training, and better serve you.

Greenbriar Firewise Program

On October 22nd, 2025, Chief Leaming and Lieutenant Hawk attended a fire safety conference in Greenbriar Oceanaire. Pasta Fundraiser for LT. Hunter Hawk

Motor Vehicle Accident

On September 6th, 2025 at 1134 hours the Waretown Fire Department was dispatched to a three car motor vehicle accident with injuries in the area of the Waretown Plaza.

Structure Fire in Stafford Township
August 25
On August 25th, 2025 at 1832 hours the Waretown Fire Department was dispatched on automatic aid to Stafford Township for a confirmed structure fire.
Upon arrival, crews were assigned to the first and second floors to conduct a primary search and fire suppression efforts. Crews from 3601 operated on location for approximately three hours prior to being released by command.

Recognition from the New Jersey Division of Fire Safety
Waretown Fire Co., July 17
On July 17th, 2025 a contingent of firefighters of the Waretown Fire Department, along with numerous other agencies, received Certificates of Recognition from the New Jersey Division of Fire Safety for their actions during the Jones Road Wildfire.
The fire was initially spotted from the Cedar Bridge Fire Tower at 9:45 a.m. on Tuesday, April 22.

On April 22nd, 2025 the Waretown Fire Company was dispatched to an active forest fire in the area of RT. 532 and Jones Road. New Jersey Forest Fire Service had already been on location and set up a command post at the Wells Mills Park.

Overturned Motor Vehicle Crash
Waretown Fire, April 16
On April 15th 2025 at approximately 1609 hours the Waretown Volunteer Fire Company was dispatched to the Garden State Parkway for a reported overturned vehicle. Rescue Engine 3631 responded and located an overturned vehicle down an embankment in the trees. Upon investigation, it was determined that the sole occupant of the vehicle had self-extricated with assistance from the New Jersey State Police
