| On October 27, 2024 at 9:45 AM Waretown Fire Department, Forked River Fire, and the NJ Fire Service was alerted to smoke in the woods off Wells Mills Road in the area of Bryant Road. 3600 (Chief), 3610 (Deputy Chief) arrived on location at Wells Mills Road and Bryant Road to direct crews. 3619 (Brush) and 3601 (engine) arrived. Crews entered the dirt roads off of Wells Mills Road to attempt to locate the reported smoke but after an extensive investigation the call was unfounded.

The combination of very dry conditions, low relative humidity, and gusty winds will result in favorable conditions for the rapid spread of fires. Any fires that develop may become difficult to contain, especially across the Pine Barrens region in New Jersey.
A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions are either occurring now, or will shortly due to a combination of strong winds, low relative humidity, and dry fuels.
Additionally, Stage 3 Fire Restrictions are in effect statewide.
STAGE 3 FIRE RESTRICTIONS
π«π₯ All fires will be prohibited unless contained in an elevated stove using only propane, natural gas, gas, or electricity.
