Waretown Volunteer Fire Co #1 was incorporated in November, 1939 as an all volunteer fire company. The first fire truck was a 1935 Ford and was housed in the basement of Town Hall. The second truck was a 1946 forest fire truck with a tank and a small motor for a pump on the side.

In 1952, the Fire House was constructed on the present site and consisted of two fire truck bays. By 1967 the Township was growing and the Fire Company added an additional two bays and a meeting hall. A second addition, built in 1975, provided three additional bays. In 1999 overall improvements were made to better accommodate Saturday night bingo and hall rentals for all types events.

Today the fire company is still operated 100% by volunteers, continuing our proud heritage. The upgrades to their equipment, training, and facilities, are continuously ongoing. They currently serve Waretown, and the surrounding areas, with apparatus including: 3 engines, a pumper tanker, and a brush truck co-operated with the NJ Forest Fire Service. The company also utilizes vehicles for the Chief and Deputy Chief for a rapid response, and initial scene size up for incoming crews.

The facilities available to rent have all been recently renovated. Featuring a large hall, completely redone restrooms, a fully operational bar, and a restaurant grade kitchen. The updated facilities seat up to 180 people and are the perfect venue for your event.
